Grab your skateboard and helmet. This weekend is the annual skateboard competition in Lompoc.
The Lompoc Recreation Division will host the competition at the Lompoc State Park at 305 W. College Ave. on Saturday, Aug. 18.
Skaters seven-years-old and up are invited to participate as long as they wear appropriate safety equipment.
Prizes will be awarded to several categories and age groups.
Check-in starts at 10 a.m. and the competition kicks off at 11 a.m. and wraps up at 2 p.m. It costs $5 per event a skater competes in.
You can register for the competition ahead of time online or in person at the Lompoc Recreation Division, 125 W. Walnut Ave.
