Thousands of students are heading back to school this week.
Wednesday marked the first day of classes for students in the Atascadero and Lompoc Unified School districts.
Paso Robles Unified, Lucia Mar and Orcutt Unified all begin Thursday.
Many other districts start up next week.
Students in Santa Maria were some of the first to head back, with classes there beginning this past Monday.
