Santa Barbara is moving forward with plans to build a new police station and parking structure in the Downtown area.
On Tuesday, the City Council approved the next phase of the project, which is to find a location for the new station. The City will consider all City-owned properties, as well as private properties.
Private property owners who are interested in talking to the City about using their property are asked to contact Property Manager Brad Hess at BHess@SantaBarbaraCA.gov.
The city says the property needs to be in the Downtown area of Santa Barbara, not in the flood zone, and at least half a city block.
The new location should be chosen by the end of the year.
