Adopt a cat for free this weekend in Santa Barbara County

If you’re in the market for a new furry friend, you can adopt a cat for free at six locations in Santa Barbara County this weekend.

The Animal Shelter Assistance Program is hosting its 9th annual free cat adoption weekend Aug. 18-19.

Adult cats will be free. Adoption fees are usually around $75.

Kittens will be two for the price of one.

Participating shelters:

  • ASAP: 5473 Overpass Road, Goleta, (805) 683-3368; open Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 19, Noon-3 p.m.
  • Lompoc Animal Shelter: 1501 W. Central Ave, Lompoc, (805) 737-7755; open Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • Santa Barbara Humane Society: 5399 Overpass Road, Goleta, (805) 964-4777; open Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Santa Maria Animal Center: 548 W. Foster Rd, Santa Maria, (805) 934-6119; open Saturday, Aug. 18, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
