SLO radio host hit by car returns to work, taking things ‘day-by-day’

Posted

A well-known San Luis Obispo radio host hit by a car a month ago is back on the air.

Dave Congalton tells KSBY he is taking his recovery and duties at work day-by-day as he alternates between using a walker and wheelchair.

He says he will begin the process of learning to walk again mid-August and is still staying with friends as his house has too many steps.

The "Hometown Radio with Dave Congalton Show" host suffered reported head and leg injuries during the accident June 30 that he says happened while he was walking to a march in downtown San Luis Obispo.

Congalton was back on the air the week of July 16 and said at the end of the week, or as he put it, “Day 4 of Dave’s comeback tour,” that he was glad to be there but was only back on a limited basis.

He thanked listeners for their “kind words and well wishes.”

Congalton’s show airs weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. on KVEC 920.
