The Santa Ynez Valley Foundation is having a free community event, Touch-A-Truck, where kids can meet local heroes.
The event is at the Stuart Gildred Family YMCA Friday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Local firefighters, law enforcement, construction workers and military officials will be there.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office says its bomb squad and a robot will also be present at the event.
