Santa Barbara County Fire Department investigators have determined the causes of two brush fires that broke out last week.The Cruces Fire was determined to be caused by an automobile traveling northbound on Highway 1. The fire, which started on July 18, burned 77 acres south of Lompoc and was fully contained on July 22. Fire officials say it was determined to be accidental.The Windmill Fire off Highway 246 west of Buellton was determined to be caused by a tractor operating in an agricultural field. The tractor reportedly sparked a fire in nearby vegetation. The fire started on July 20, burned 110 acres, and was fully contained on July 23.A tractor was determined to be the cause of the Windmill Fire near Buellton. (KSBY photo)
