Muggy conditions continue Friday, daytime highs heat up on Monday

Posted

Friday could be another day of surprise rain showers as monsoonal flow continues to impact the Central Coast. As a result, muggy conditions will continue on Friday. If you’re heading up to the California Mid-State Fair, the daytime high will be 92 degrees and temperatures will remain in the low 90s through Sunday. High pressure will start to expand on Monday, which means temperatures are heating up again to triple digits for the interior portions.

An excessive heat watch will go into effect from Tuesday morning through Wednesday afternoon. Coastal valley temperatures could reach the low 90s by Tuesday once that watch is in place. Before the heat wave, on Friday, coastal valley temperatures will be mild and in the upper 70s to low 80s with mid to high-level cloud coverage.

Coastal conditions will be favorable and in the mid-60s to low 70s to kick off the weekend. Marine layer will hang around through the morning along the coastline and it could be stubborn to clear heading into the afternoon.
