6 things to do this weekend on the Central Coast

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are some of the events happening around the Central Coast:

SATURDAY, JULY 7

Run Wild for Conservation
7:30 a.m. – check-in
9 a.m. – race begins
Santa Barbara Zoo, 500 Niños Drive, Santa Barbara
This one-mile fun run is open to all ages, including walkers and parents with strollers. The route will take participants through behind the scenes areas at the zoo not usually open to the public. The cost of registration includes zoo admission, one zoo train ride, one rock wall climb, all-day bounce house access, and discounts at the gift shop and food outlets.
Registration: $25 for adults; $15 for children

Brunch by the Lake
9 a.m.-noon
Laguna Lake Park, 504 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo
Food and beverages will be available for purchase from local food trucks. This family-friendly event will also include yoga, Tai Chi, a boat parade, volleyball, arts and crafts, live music, kids’ activities and more.

Movies in the Park
8 p.m.
Preisker Park, 300 Hidden Pines Way, Santa Maria
The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will present "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and snacks to this family-friendly activity.

SUNDAY, JULY 8

Mad Bomberz Car Show
11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Nipomo Regional Park, 255 Pomeroy Road, Nipomo
Hundreds of cars, trucks and motorcycles of all years, makes and models will be on display. The event will include a raffle, vendors, food available for purchase, and live music from Burning James and the Funky Flames. Proceeds benefit Special Olympics.

Pride in the Plaza
Noon-5:30 p.m.
Mission Plaza, San Luis Obispo
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance of the Central Coast hosts a celebration of Pride Week that includes live music and performers. Berlin featuring Terri Nunn is the musical headliner.

Pacific Breeze Concerts
1 p.m.
Dinosaur Caves Park, 2701 Price Street, Pismo Beach
Zongo All-Stars will perform live. The event also includes activities for the kids, including bounces, games and crafts, and food available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the show.
