Fireworks stands in Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach are selling safe fireworks ahead of the July 4 holiday.
The stand in Arroyo Grande is raising money for the Arroyo Grande High School Band. Organizers hope to raise $20,000 to help students cover the cost of the music program.
"Buses, instruments, and uniforms, and all of that, it adds up quite a bit," said band director Scott McGlasson. "through the support of parents and the community, we’re able to run the band."
Five Cities Firefighters are reminding people that safe and sane fireworks can only be set off from noon on July 3 until midnight on July 5. Fireworks can be set off anywhere in city limits, though they can not be set off on any beaches.
