Bowling alley for downtown SLO no longer in development, City says

Posted

Plans to bring an entertainment hub that would house a bowling alley, concert hall and restaurant to downtown San Luis Obispo are no longer happening.

San Luis Obispo Community Development Deputy Director Douglas Davidson tells KSBY News Discovery SLO is not going to be developed at 1144 Chorro St., which previously housed Sports Authority.

Davidson says the announcement came to the City on Tuesday when a new application for a mixed-use, six-story retail office and residential building at that location was submitted by the owners of the building. Davidson told KSBY Jamestown Premier SLO retail, LP and Copeland Properties were both on the application for the new proposal.

KSBY reached out to Discovery SLO CEO Jeremy Pemberton following the news, but has not yet heard back.
