English bulldog Zsa Zsa wins annual World’s Ugliest Dog contest

Posted

At 9-years-old, Zsa Zsa is a winner.

The English Bulldog, with her massive underbite and dangling tongue, won the World’s Ugliest Dog contest at the Sonoma Marina Fairgrounds on Saturday.

The California fair tradition dates back 30 years. Most of the World’s Ugliest Dog contestants are up for adoption and the event helps raise awareness of pet rescue and adoption.

Past winners have been rescued from animal shelters and puppy mills.

Zsa Zsa was a puppy mill dog for five years in Missouri. According to officials, instead of being placed in a home at the end of her breeding, she was put in a dog auction.

She was then purchased by Underdog Rescue.

After her photo was posted on a pet finder website, she was adopted and lives a retired life in Anoka, Minnesota.

Congratulations, Zsa Zsa!
