Firefighters respond to small fire at encampment in Lompoc riverbed

Posted

No one was injured Friday when another fire broke out in a homeless encampment within the Lompoc riverbed.

The Lompoc City Fire Department says the early-morning call came in reporting the fire near the 1600 block of North H Street.

When crews arrived, they say the occupants of the camp were still sleeping.

They got out unharmed and the approximately 20’x40′ fire was put out, according to firefighters.
