The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office caught three men on suspicion of vandalism early Saturday morning.

Just after midnight a deputy reportedly saw a 2003 Toyota Corolla sedan with a spoiler in the area of Mira Flores and Via De Luna. The car matched a vehicle description in connection to several car vandalism incidents in Santa Maria and Orcutt.

Over the span of a week, law enforcement officials say at least 24 cars were shot out with what appeared to be BB guns.

Three men from Orcutt, ages 19, 18 and 16, were inside the Toyota Corolla with a BB pistol and BB rifle inside, deputies say. The adult driver was cited for expired registration and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The 16-year-old was cited for a curfew violation.

Once the investigation is complete, it will be forwarded to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office with the recommendation that vandalism charges be filed.
