Clear skies with breezy conditions Thursday

Posted

Daytime highs on the Central Coast are starting to warm up again ahead of the weekend.

The inland valleys are climbing back into the 80s and the coastal valleys are ranging from the low to upper 70s. The beaches are still in the 60s today, but by Friday expect those daytime highs to be in the mid to low 70s.

There isn’t a wind advisory in place for Thursday but that doesn’t mean it won’t be breezy for most of the afternoon. Northwesterly 15-25 mile per hour onshore winds will increase during the afternoon hours and continue through the early evening hours before dying down. In areas like Lompoc, expect winds gusts to reach near 40 mph and 30 mph for Santa Maria.

Marine layer and fog will be a factor during the morning commute hours but won’t impact drivers. Expect clearing by later Thursday morning and sunshine throughout the afternoon.
