Blue skies and hundreds of classic cars will be the perfect recipe for a weekend out at Pismo Beach beginning on Friday.

The Classic at Pismo Beach is drawing throwback vehicles from across the country for a weekend any car lover will enjoy.

Now in its 33rd year, The Classic began in 1986 as a way to attract business and brought in 300 entries and an estimated 10,000 visitors.

Fast forward to 2017 and GoToPismo.com reported The Classic at Pismo Beach reached 800 entries with an attendance estimated at 170,000 over three days.

If you are driving through the area, be aware of closures. Areas of Price, Pomeroy, and Cypress streets will be closed.

Officials say southbound Highway 101 traffic through Pismo Beach will be congested.

The show will continue through Sunday night in downtown Pismo Beach.
