The Santa Maria Strawberry Festival had a successful kickoff on Friday.
Dozens of strawberry growers from across the Central Coast are at this weekend’s festival at the Santa Maria Fairpark.
Several events promise fun for the whole family, including "Philip the Clown," a cooking show and several chances to enjoy a strawberry or two.
"The strawberries are always exciting of course," said spokesperson Shelly Cone. "If you like something that you taste at one of the vendor booths, you can bring home a flat of strawberries."
