Local business struggles after fallen tree damage in Orcutt

Posted

A local family business has struggled to return to normal after strong winds caused fallen trees at an Orcutt park.

Waller Park closed temporarily in mid-April after two healthy trees toppled over from strong winds rolling through the area.

One of the trees fell on the fence of Happy Trails Pony Rides owned by the Leonard family.

KSBY has reached out to county and park officials to inquire if there is any plans of future work outside of the initial tree removal and clean up, but have not heard back.

The community, instead, is banding together to help the Leonard’s by starting a GoFundMe page

The goal is to reach $7,500 to fix the damaged fences and help with the time spent out of work.
