Protesters showed up outside a "Fake News" panel hosted by the Cal Poly College Republicans at the Mott Athletic Center on campus Thursday evening.
Because the panel featured controversial political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos, protests were expected and the university spent about $55,000 on security surrounding the event.
