Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are some of the events happening around the Central Coast:

FRIDAY, APRIL 27 – SATURDAY, APRIL 28

Santa Maria Valley Strawberry Festival
Noon-10 p.m.
Santa Maria Fairpark, 937 S. Thornburg Street
Enjoy a carnival with rides, games, pony rides, live music, and a petting zoo, plus strawberry vendors, strawberry tastings, contests, cooking demonstrations, and more.
Tickets: $10 (ages 12-61), $7 (children 6-11 and seniors 62+), children 5 and under get in free.

Morro Bay Kite Festival
3-6 p.m. – Friday
10 a.m.-6 p.m. – Saturday
1-4 p.m. – Sunday
Morro Rock
On Friday, check out a "kite fighting" display. Throughout the weekend, there will be various demonstrations, including kite surfing and sand surfing, plus vendors selling everything you need to go fly a kite.

SATURDAY

Brew at the Zoo
5:30-9 p.m.
Charles Paddock Zoo, 9100 Morro Rd., Atascadero
Party with the animals and enjoy tastings from 11 craft breweries, two cideries and five wineries. Special drinks will also be available for designated drivers. Entertainment will include karaoke, hula hoop and dance contests, and live music by Bear Market Riot.
Tickets: $35; $5 for designated drivers

Free Swim
12:45 p.m.-5 p.m.
Cuesta College Aquatic Center Complex, San Luis Obispo
Swim for free at the Cuesta College pool before it’s closed for a major reconstruction project.
Free event.

Surf Art/Photography Show & Concert
2-5 p.m. – art show
8:30-11 p.m. – concert
The Siren, 900 Main Street, Morro Bay
Local artists and photographers will show off their work during a free afternoon show. In the evening, The Wheeland Brothers and the Shane Stoneman Band will take the stage.
