One man is dead after his motorcycle collided with an SUV on Highway 1 south of Lompoc Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened three miles south of Jalama Rd. at about 2:30 p.m.
First responders say the motorcyclist was thrown off his bike when he crashed with a Ford Explorer.
The man reportedly died on impact. His name and age have not been released.
Two adults and two children were in the SUV, according to officials. All of them were taken to Cottage Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

As of 4 p.m., Highway 1 remained closed to southbound traffic at Ocean Ave. due to the crash.
Drivers should expect significant delays and opt for an alternate route.

CHP Buellton is currently investigating the crash.
