Former Santa Barbara County accountant pleads guilty in embezzlement case

A former Santa Barbara County worker awaits her sentencing after stealing nearly $2,000,000 in public money. 

48-year-old Lynn Hogan pleaded guilty Wednesday to felony charges of theft of public funds, conspiracy and forgery occurring between May 27, 2008, and July 25, 2017. 

Hogan worked for the Public Works Department for 28 years before her arrest in September 2017. 

Also charged are Michael Anzivino, Wendy Puchli, Michelle Lavin, Richard Kaplinski, Vincent Anzivino, Michael Elliott, Christina Huffman and Leanna Harada. 

Hogan returns to court June 6 for sentencing and could face more than nine years in state prison. 

A preliminary hearing for all other defendants will take place June 27.
