Santa Maria police investigating a crash between a city transit bus and a bicyclist last week recreated the scene on Wednesday.
The crash happened at about 5:45 p.m. on Monday, April 2 at the corner of Caballero and McCoy Lane.
The bicyclist, a woman in her 40s, was taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Police closed off McCoy Lane Wednesday morning as they recreated the scene of the crash.
"The traffic collision reconstructionists are looking at the material they gathered today along with the original information to put together a comprehensive package," explained Lt. Russ Mengel, Santa Maria Police Dept.
Police say once their investigation is complete, their report will be given to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office to decide if any charges will be filed.
City officials have said the bicyclist was in the bike lane at the time of the crash.
The bus driver’s current employment status and the bicyclist’s condition have not been reported.
