The woman arrested last year on suspicion of slashing her then-boyfriend’s neck in San Luis Obispo has entered into a plea deal with prosecutors.

Erika Christine Deherrera pleaded no contest to attempted murder, admitting she inflicted great bodily injury to Robert Johnson, according to San Luis Obispo County Assistant District Attorney Eric Dobroth.

Deherrera is expected to be sentenced to eight years in state prison on May 22.

Deputies were called on June 17, 2017 about man who was bleeding from the neck at the Bishop Peak trailhead on Foothill Boulevard. The man told deputies that his ex-girlfriend had cut his throat.

An EMT on the way to work stopped and helped Johnson. The victim was then taken to the hospital, treated and then released.

Deputies said they found Deherrera hiding in some bushes later that night, arrested her and booked her into the San Luis Obispo County Jail.
