Local architects to help property owners rebuild following Thomas Fire, Montecito mudslides

Posted

Santa Barbara County is teaming up with local architects to help people rebuild after the Thomas Fire and January mudslides.

County officials, two local architecture firms and private philanthropists have set up a center in Montecito where land use planners and architects will provide free advice on how to best clean up and rebuild.

"Property owners impacted by recent disasters may face highly complex challenges in considering their strategies for rebuilding," said Keith Rivera, president of the AIASB Board of Directors, in a press release. "Our goal is to help property owners think through some of the major issues in the beginning stages of rebuilding so they and others in the community can move forward in the process of healing and recovery."

The center, located at 1283 Coast Village Circle, is open Monday through Saturday at select times.
