UPDATE: Missing Carpinteria teen found safe with mother

UPDATE – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office reports that Eternity Pittman was found safe with her mother on April 6.

Eternity’s father reported her missing on Feb. 2, according to sheriff’s officials, a correction from the previous report.


The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating a Carpinteria teen believed to have run away.

Officials say Eternity Pittman, 16, is not wanted for anything criminal, but detectives are hoping to find out where she is to make sure she is safe.

According to the sheriff’s office, Pittman tried to run away on March 1, but came back home. The following day, she was reportedly dropped off at Carpinteria High School and when she didn’t return home, her father reported her missing that night

Detectives say Pittman lost contact with her mother – Jennifer McCord, 42 – a year ago and they believe she took off to reunite with her.

McCord reportedly has ties to Los Angeles and Omaha, Nebraska.
