Karson Wells joined the KSBY News team in June 2024 as the community reporter for San Luis Obispo.
She graduated magna cum laude from San Jose State University with a bachelor's degree in Journalism and a Radio, TV, and Film minor in May of 2024.
While there, she served as the Executive Producer for Update News, the on-campus broadcast news source. She also reported and anchored.
She went on to teach the broadcast news class and helped a team of new journalists find their passion for the job.
Before joining the team at KSBY, Karson worked at NBC Bay Area as a writer and production assistant for "Today in the Bay".
She has been reporting since her junior year of high school, serving as a sports anchor, general assignment reporter, and executive producer for Jag News Network, the broadcast news show for Gregori High School.
When she is not reporting the news, Karson loves spending time with her cat, Finn, going to the beach, and finding cool places to grab a bite.
