San Luis Obispo' city council members voted to move forward on a six-story building project in downtown.

This project has been controversial among residents.

The plan is to build the 75-foot tall building on Chorro Street. It would be used for commercial office space and housing.

Council members voted Tuesday night to move the project forward after finding out it meets all the legal requirements.

Some residents raised concerns and others applauded the idea.
