Eduardo Huijon Jr. (“Eddie”) joined KSBY News as Weather Anchor/Multimedia Journalist in May 2023.
Eddie is an Orange County native from Anaheim and was inspired to one day be in the entertainment industry after Gwen Stefani’s debut of “Hollaback Girl” when he was 9. He also grew up watching news stations like KCAL9, KTLA5, FOX 11 News, and ABC7, when he wasn’t obsessing over new music during the early 2000s. After learning about Stefani’s history in Anaheim over the years, he decided to take on the role of being a weather anchor during his senior year at Loara High School for the school announcements.
After graduating from high school, Huijon began studying at Fullerton College and earned various associate degrees in Communications: General, Radio Broadcasting, Television/Film, and Film, Television, and Electronic Media.
Eddie is proud to come from the California Community College system and upon completing his units, he later decided to pack his bags and take off to the Bay Area and finish off his undergraduate studies at San Francisco State University. He earned a bachelor's degree in Broadcast & Electronic Communication Arts, with an emphasis in Electronic Media Journalism.
In the Spring of 2021, Eddie landed a position as the Weekend Anchor/Bilingual Multimedia Journalist for the CBS/Telemundo duopoly station KOSA-TV and KTLE-TV in Odessa, Texas. He reported, filled in for the meteorologists on occasion, and produced their newscasts in English and Spanish.
Something you may have not known about Eddie is that he is a big foodie! He enjoys eating at Cecconi’s, Mother Wolf, Ysabel, Craig’s, La Boheme, Cafe Habana, and Harriet’s in Los Angeles. But when he’s home in Orange County, you can find him at the Anaheim Packing House District, Banzai Bowls, Urth Caffé, Maggiano's Little Italy, and JOEY Newport Beach.
A few hobbies Eddie enjoys are playing beach volleyball, hiking, and reading new books!
