With just about two weeks left before Christmas, the need for toy donations in the Lompoc community is greater than ever before.
For the last 15 years, the United States Marine Corp and Lompoc Communify have worked to help provide toys to children in need in the Lompoc community during the Toys for Tots drive.
With more than 2,000 children having registered for donations this year, organizers say donations are still needed, especially for pre-teens.
“We don't have enough toys right now, We need people to donate as much as they can. I know it’s hard for everybody right now, but the need is still great and we want to make it a Merry Christmas for the kiddos,” said Maria Douvia, with Children Services CommUnify.
The deadline for families to register is Friday. Distribution events are scheduled the week of Dec. 20.
Toys for Tots is part of KSBY’s Season of Hope campaign. All donations stay on the Central Coast.
