A couple of local 7-Eleven stores are offering freebies for teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week.
From May 6-10, teachers can get a free small/medium coffee or Big Gulp between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the 7-Eleven stores located at 4975 S. Bradley Rd. in Orcutt and 701 S. Elm St. in Arroyo Grande.
Teachers are asked to present their current school ID card to receive the deal.
“I think being a teacher for the last 16 years, I think it’s kinda cool to be acknowledged in local businesses like 7-Eleven and having this week to say ‘hey, thank you teachers for everything that you do for the kids and all the time you spend on the youth educating, getting them ready for the future,'” said Chad McKenzie, Orcutt Academy High School Athletic Director.
Teacher Appreciation Week was created by the National PTA in 1984 to honor teachers across the country.
