Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are some of the events happening across the Central Coast:

SATURDAY, APRIL 13

Children’s Day in the Plaza
10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Mission Plaza, 989 Chorro St., San Luis Obispo
Bring the kids for a day of family fun with a variety of arts and crafts activities, giveaways, and booths representing more than 70 community resource agencies, vendors and exhibitors. Presented by First 5 San Luis Obispo County.

Avila Beach Easter Festival
10-11:30 a.m.
Avila Beach Community Center, 191 San Miguel St., Avila Beach
Bring the kids to take pictures with the Easter Bunny, dye Easter eggs and enjoy other arts and crafts activities. There will also be a bounce house, snacks and refreshments.

Outdoor Discovery Festival
11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Lopez Lake, 6800 Lopez Dr., Arroyo Grande
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Lopez Lake Recreational Area with activities including a kids’ obstacle course, hay rides, Chumash storytelling, and guided hikes. The event will also include a drawing every half hour to wine a free zipline, plus vendor booths, exhibits, demonstrations, and live music.

Poly Royal Rodeo
5:30 p.m.
Alex G. Spanos Stadium, Cal Poly
College rodeo athletes from across the West will compete in barrel racing, bull riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, roping, and other events. There will also be stunts, the Flying Cowboyz, and clown acts. Following the rodeo, country music artist Casey Donahew will perform.

SUNDAY, APRIL 14

Free Family Kite Festival
Noon-4 p.m.
Rotary Centennial Park, 2625 S. College Dr., Santa Maria
Central Coast residents of all ages are invited to fly a kite, watch professional kite-flying demonstrations, take part in contests, and enjoy food and live music by the family rock band BIRDIE. Ambassadors from the American Kitefliers Association will be on hand and there will be a “kite hospital” for kites that need repairs.

PismoPawFest
1-5 p.m.
Dinosaur Caves Park, 131 Cliff Ave, Pismo Beach
Bring your dogs for an afternoon of live music, vendors, food trucks, a flea market, wine and beer tasting, and a pet look-a-like contest. Proceeds from the event benefit Woods Humane Society and the Pismo Beach Police Department K-9 program.
