The City of Atascadero is inviting the public to a series of open house events to talk about the best way to alleviate downtown traffic.

Information will be provided on a plan to reduce El Camino Real down to one lane in each direction with the hope of increasing pedestrian and bicycle safety.

The open house series will allow the public to check out conceptual plans, give input and have their questions about the plans answered.

The open houses start next week and will take place in the fourth-floor council chambers at the historic Atascadero City Hall, located at 6500 Palma Ave.:

  • Thursday, April 11: 4-7 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 13: 9 a.m. – Noon
  • Tuesday, April 16: 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 17: 3-6 p.m. (at the Farmer’s Market booth across from the Information Tent at Palma and East Mall)
