Beard-A-Reno kicks off 2019 Santa Maria Elks Rodeo season

A Santa Maria Elks Rodeo tradition is back with the kickoff Monday of the Beard-A-Reno contest.

From now through Friday, April 5, men can enter the contest for a chance at winning a custom-made silver belt buckle in one of eleven categories:

  • Longest Beard
  • Blackest Beard
  • Whitest Beard
  • Reddest Beard
  • Best Goatee
  • Best Mustache
  • Best Sideburns
  • Best Attempt
  • Wildest
  • Best Western Characterization
  • Best All-Around

Contest entrants must be at least 21-years-old and clean-shaven at the time of registration. Registration costs $25.

To enter, visit the Elks Rodeo Office, located at 113 S. College Dr. in Santa Maria, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The winners will be announced at a barbeque dinner on Saturday, May 11. Registration includes the cost of dinner.

Women are also invited to enter the Miss Wrangler contest. The first ten women to register will receive a Wrangler Gift Certificate. All entrants must be at least 21-years-old and registration costs $25. The winner, also to be announced at the dinner, will receive a custom-made silver belt buckle.
