The Salvation Army for the Arroyo Grande area is working countless hours to provide a merry Christmas to families in need.

The organization partners with Toys for Tots and KSBY’s Season of Hope to hand out toys to kids in the area.

More than 700 children benefit from the program, providing a happy holiday to the less fortunate.

The program coordinator is excited about this time of year and thankful for the volunteers that give their time to the cause.

“It’s great and it’s great for my volunteers,” said Jose Guardiola, Salvation Army program coordinator. “I’ve got a tremendous core of volunteers. These people are just amazing. They put in a lot of hours to make this happen and it works like clockwork every year.”

Other Salvation Army locations across the Central Coast will also distribute toys in the coming days.
