Altrusa of the Central Coast is hosting its annual Christmas tree raffle.

Thirty-three decorated trees with gifts will be raffled off.

You can check them out downstairs at the Santa Maria Town Center Mall.

Sponsors spend up to $2,000 for each tree and gifts for the raffle. The money raised benefits local community groups, including the Boys & Girls Club, CASA, and Meals on Wheels.

“When you find out what their actually doing with the money, yeah, it warms your heart big time,” said Leticia Kossuth, President of Altrusa of the Central Coast.

Raffle tickets cost $1 each or $5 for six tickets.

Organizers say some of the money is also used for a college grant for a couple local high schoolers.

This is the 16th year for the fundraiser.
