SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10

Avila Beach Resort BBQ Fest
Noon-5 p.m.
Avila Beach Golf Resort, 6464 Ana Bay Rd., Avila Beach
Enjoy barbecue tastings and a live performance by country musician JD Hardy.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 11

Taste of Nipomo
2-5 p.m.
DANA Adobe Cultural Center, 671 S. Oakglen Ave., Nipomo
Sample local food, beer and wine, enjoy live music by Akusaa, and bid in a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the DANA Adobe Cultural Center’s exhibits and educational programs.

Veterans Day observations:

Faces of Freedom Veterans Memorial, 8038 Portola Rd., Atascadero
11 a.m.
The event includes a ceremony, followed by music and a community BBQ for purchase.

11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The event celebrates and honors our nation’s heroes and also recognizes Armistice Day.

El Presidio de Santa Barbara State Historic Park, 123 East Canon Perdido St.
11 a.m.
Members of Los Soldados del Real Presidio de Santa Barbara will honor armed service veterans, their families, and currently serving military members. Military vehicles from the collection of Rob Gordon will also be on display.

Morro Bay Veterans Memorial Hall, 209 Surf St.
4 p.m.
The event includes a color guard and patriotic songs. Plus, learn about the amphibious training base the Navy built at the Morro Bay Harbor.
Admission: $5 for the general public; free for veterans and Morro Bay Historical Society members
