Donations are needed for the upcoming Santa Barbara County Veterans Stand Down.
The Stand Down, to be held in Santa Maria this year on Saturday, Oct. 20, will offer hot food, showers, clothing, hygiene items, medical exams, social services, help with benefits, employment counseling, and other services to local veterans in need.
Organizers say they still need barbers and stylists, as well as donations of new socks, long-sleeve T-shirts, underwear, outerwear, jackets, and sweatshirts.
This Wednesday, Oct. 17, is the last day members of the community can drop off donations before the event.
Donations will be accepted from noon until 2 p.m. at the Santa Maria Fairpark, Gate 5. The Fairpark is located at 937 S. Thornburg Street in Santa Maria.
