The San Luis Obispo Museum of Art (SLOMA) has launched a new campaign aimed at inspiring students to get involved in the visual arts.

“AWAKEN” is a year-long program broken up into three exhibitions – fall, winter and spring.

San Luis Obispo County students in kindergarten through high school are invited to participate.

The fall exhibition is open specifically to high school students. Those who enter should create their artwork around the theme of “community.”

The exhibition is open to paintings, drawings, photos, hand-pulled prints, ceramics, digital art, fiber art, videos, and sculptures.

Students can enter up to three works of art.

The fall exhibition will run Nov. 2-18. The deadline to enter is Oct. 28, 2018. Visit the SLOMA website for an entry form.

The winter exhibition will be open to middle school students. The theme is “nature.”

The spring exhibition, “discovery,” will be open to elementary school students.
