FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 28 – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29

Arroyo Grande Valley Harvest Festival
4 p.m.-9 p.m., Friday
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday
Centennial Park and Olohan Alley, Village of Arroyo Grande
The 81st annual festival kicks off Friday with a Fish Fry, live music, and a family movie night featuring “Ferdinand.” On Saturday, activities kick off with a parade on Branch Street. Throughout the day, enjoy live music, a Diaper Derby, Spelling Bee, pony rides, wheelbarrow races, baking competition, pie-eating contest, food vendors, and arts and crafts booths.

Chalk Festival
10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Old Town Orcutt
The streets of Old Town Orcutt will be turned into a gallery of vibrant chalk murals created by local artists and children. The event also includes food, live entertainment, arts and crafts booths, and children’s activities.

SLO Comix Fair
10 a.m.-1 p.m.
San Luis Obispo Library, 995 Palm St., San Luis Obispo
Dress up as your favorite comic book character and check out a variety of comic books and artwork and meet the artists. The convention will be visited by a group of Stormtroopers, and there will a “virtual reality experience” for ages 13 and up.

Harvest Hoedown
6-10 p.m.
The Loading Chute, 6350 Webster Rd., Creston
Celebrate the wine grape harvest with a Tri-Tip barbecue, wine tasting from local wineries, a baking contest, a “Wine Walk” with prizes, and live music by the Mother Corn Shuckers.

Los Alamos Valley Old Days
6-9 p.m., Friday
7 a.m.-midnight, Saturday
9 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday
The 72nd annual celebration begins with a Chili Cook-off Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday. On Saturday, start the day with a pancake breakfast, then enjoy a car show, Peddlers Mart & Artisan Fair, and a Tri-Tip BBQ dinner and dance with the Tex Pistols. Sunday’s activities begin with a 5K run/walk and a parade starting at 11 a.m.

Goleta Lemon Festival

Celebrate everything about lemons with lemon-themed foods, pie eating contests, arts and crafts vendors, live music, dance performances, a Kids Zone, Safety Street, and car show.
