KSBY History
KSBY-TV made its on-air debut in May of 1953. Today, it is the NBC and LAFF affiliate serving San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties along California’s beautiful Central Coast. It went on the air, however, as KVEC-TV. The VEC call letters stood for Valley Electric Company. KVEC-TV was the first local television station built in the Central Coast. Originally, the station carried all three television networks: NBC, CBS & ABC.

About KSBY Coverage
KSBY-TV is on the air in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties along the Central Coast of California. Digital channel 6.1 provides NBC. Digital channel 6.2 (NSBY) provides LAFF and digital channels 6.3, 6.4, 6.5 and 6.6 carry Grit, Court TV, Scripps News, and ion respectively.
A UHF or all-channel antenna (VHF if you live in Santa Barbara) connected to a digital-to-analog converter box or to a digital-ready television is required to receive the new signal. If you are already set up to receive a digital broadcast, all that is necessary is to re-scan channels on your converter box or television.
