KSBY’s Friday Night Highlights Week 8 ‘Game of the Week’ features a Mountain League matchup between Arroyo Grande and Righetti.
The Eagles are 6-2 overall and coming off a big win on the road at Paso Robles, 35-21. Arroyo Grande began its Mountain League schedule at 1-1, with the lone loss coming to St. Joseph in week six. It may seem like a must win to keep league title hopes alive, but the Eagles aren’t focused on that kind of added pressure.
“This urgency, this sense of we have to win – we want to win because it’s the byproduct of doing things the right way. I don’t know if there’s a must-win game anymore. We need to bring our A-game. We don’t look at the bigger picture things because we’re focused on this week,” said Mike Hartman, Arroyo Grande head coach.
“We’ve known all year that it was going to be a big game,” said Diego Huitron, Arroyo Grande junior center. “Righetti has played with a lot of confidence this season and they deserve it because they’ve played pretty good. We’re preparing more than we have all year for this game. It’s big for us.”
The game is at Arroyo Grande on Friday, kick off set for 7 p.m.
