The Santa Maria airport's Central Coast AirFest was awarded best-in-class in an international competition.
For the second year in a row, the Central Coast AirFest has won the Pinnacle Platinum Award in the Small Civilian Air Show category by the International Council of Air Shows. They were given the award at a convention in Las Vegas earlier this month.
“We were absolutely thrilled to have been recognized by ICAS for our efforts in hosting this great community event, particularly since this was the second year in a row AirFest has won this award” said Chris Kunkle, Central Coast AirFest Committee chairman. “This would not have been possible without the tremendous support of the airport district, volunteers, and our great sponsors."
This year's AirFest featured an F-16 Viper Demo, tours of airplanes and more.
Next year's AirFest is on Oct. 17 and 18. For more information, click http://centralcoastairfest.com/.
