SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — San Francisco is the latest California city to temporarily shutter a mass vaccination site due to lack of vaccine, joining Los Angeles in pausing inoculations amid a national shortage.

Officials said Sunday that mass vaccinations are on hold at Moscone convention center for one week until supply ramps up.

Many cities and counties in California are crying for more vaccine, saying they have the ability to deliver.

Nearly 6 million doses have been administered throughout California and there are hopes the Biden administration can open up vaccine supplies.

On Tuesday, two new mass vaccination sites with doses from the federal government will open in Oakland and East Los Angeles.
