Sara MacKenzie: Raising the Bar

Back in January, Cal Poly promoted Sara MacKenzie to Director of Strength and Conditioning. With the hire, MacKenzie became one of just two women among NCAA Division 1 schools with a football program to hold that title. She’s literally, and figuratively, raising the bar for women all across the nation.

Closing the pet shop loophole

In January, KSBY reported on a new California law that allows pet store to sell cats, dogs, and rabbits only if they’re from a rescue organization or shelter.

Short break before the weather gets active again late Friday

Clouds will be on the increase Friday afternoon before rain returns Friday night (after sunset, more likely around 8-10pm for the beginning of the activity).

This next storm system will tap into a plume of subtropical moisture called the “atmospheric river”. This is the pattern that has fueled a number of storm systems this year. There will also be strong SE-S winds of 15-30mph with locally higher gusts developing late Friday night into Saturday morning.

This storm is also unstable and includes the potential for thunderstorms. .75-1.5″ of rain is likely with some totals over 2″.
