UPDATE: Foul play not suspected in woman's death, San Luis Obipso police say

UPDATE (5:23 p.m.) - In a press release, SLOPD says officers responded to check the welfare of an unresponsive female lying on the sidewalk near the 4400 block of Poinsettia around 6 a.m.

Crews performed first aid, but the woman was pronounced dead on scene according to officials.

According to the press release, the woman had no signs of trauma.

Detectives are still investigating the cause of death, but at this point they do not believe there was foul play. An autopsy is scheduled for a later date.

ORIGINAL STORY (11:29 a.m.) - The San Luis Obispo Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office are investigating a body that was reportedly found Saturday morning near Poinsettia Street and Lily Lane in San Luis Obispo.

Officials say they received reports of a body found after 6 a.m. Saturday.

The police department says authorities are still at the scene investigating.

In a call with KSBY, San Luis Obispo police officers were unable to release further details about the body.
