(UPDATE: 8:25 p.m.) - Santa Barbara County Fire officials say the fatal crash involved three vehicles.
The crash happened on Hwy 101 northbound in the Twin Oaks area two miles north of the 101 and 154 interchanges.
One vehicle rolled over into the center median where the two occupants were able to get out of the car and suffered minor injuries.
Fire officials say another person involved was able to walk away and transported themselves to the hospital.
Another person involved in the crash was able to get out of the vehicle, once they were out they fell to the ground suffering from cardiac arrest. First responders on the scene performed life-saving measures, however that person was ultimately declared dead on the scene.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

(UPDATE: 7:50 p.m.) - California Highway Patrol confirms at least one person died in the crash.

California Highway Patrol is responding to a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 north of Los Olivos.
The crash happened at around 7 p.m. on northbound 101 just south of Twin Oaks between Los Alamos and Los Olivos.
According to CHP at least one lane is blocked and traffic is backed up in the area.
It is unknown at this time how many people were involved in the crash.
