UPDATE (11:26 a.m.) - The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office has identified a man who died while in custody at the county jail on Monday as Gregory Louis Trujillo, 62, of Nipomo.

Sheriff's officials say Trujillo was arrested on suspicion of DUI at about 3:10 p.m. Monday in front of Nipomo Elementary School.

After being taken to a local hospital for a DUI blood draw and medical exam, sheriff's officials say he was booked into the jail at about 6:40 p.m.

About an hour-and-a-half later, while in the intake area awaiting release, sheriff's officials say another inmate alerted jail staff that something was wrong with Trujillo. According to the sheriff's office, medical and custody staff rendered medical aid but where unable to revive Trujillo.

Sheriff's officials say Trujillo never gave any indication that we was ill prior to the apparent medical emergency.

Foul play is not suspected and the cause of Trujillo's death is under investigation. An autopsy will be performed.
