CAL FIRE SLO is responding to a car and grass fire on the Cuesta Grade that broke out Thursday morning.
Fire officials say a car caught fire at around 8:15 a.m. on northbound 101 at the Cuesta Summit.
According to CHP, when first responders arrived an overheating car was fully engulfed in flames.
According to CAL FIRE SLO, the fire spread to nearby vegetation and firefighters on scene were quickly able to knock down the fire.
Fire officials are asking drivers to take extreme caution in the area as crews work to clear the scene.
