TRAFFIC: Semi-truck fire slows traffic on Highway 101 near Camp Roberts

UPDATE: Additional crews were requested at the scene as of 8:45 a.m. to finish cleaning up remnants of the morning fire.

ORIGINAL FIRE: California Highway Patrol responds to semi-truck fire along Highway 101 near Camp Roberts Friday morning.

CHP says reports of the truck fire came in at around 6:15 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Highway 101.

According to CHP logs, the fire started on the wheel of the truck and has expanded to the front of the vehicle and grass nearby.

CAL FIRE SLO posted on twitter saying they are responding to the truck fire that is one mile south of Camp Roberts.

As of 6:45 a.m., CHP is working to close the number one lane on southbound 101 near Camp Roberts. Traffic will continue to flow through the number two lane.

No injuries have been reported.
